DAY 01: TRANSFER IN QUITO

Our guide will meet you at the airport to welcome you and take to your hotel for check in.

DAY 02: CITY COLONIAL & EQUATORIAL MONUMENT

A wonderful stat at our arrival on the best well preserved Colonial downtown in South America. You will never get tired of exploring the gold-gilded La Compañia de Jesus Church and the neo-gothic Basilica del Voto Nacional. On the heart of the downtown we will admire the Independence Square, the Presidential Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral , the Archbishop’s Palace, the Municipal Building. Continue to the church and monastery of San Francisco (1535), which is the oldest church in Ecuador. Besides you will go back in centuries visiting the oldest colonial street of Quito “ LA RONDA” where a typic drink called “ canelazo” will be tasted. Inmediately will be driven to one of the highest viewpoints of the city “ Panecillo Hill”. Here you will have a spectacular view of the city.

From there we will drive to the Middle of the world. The Equatorial line marking latitude 0° 0′ 0″ is a unique place, where you can stand up in two hemisphere at the same time. We will learn about the French-Spanish expedition that came to determine the position of the Equator. We will visit the ethnographical museum, and the complex with its plazas and streets.

Return to Quito.

DAY 03 TOACHI RIVER- COTOPAXI

We depart from Quito early in the morning straight line to Toachi and Blanco Rivers (Class III- III+) . Be ready to try on an unforgettable adventure, rafting in nice waters and with beauty and the sounds of the Ecuadorian forest. This trip will take between 3 or 4 hours depending on the water levels. A box lunch at the river’s shore after an adrenaline outdoor activity . Afterwards we will got Cotopaxi Province.

DAY 04 COTOPAXI- QUILOTOA

Our day will start with a nice hike to Limpiopungo Lake at Cotopaxi National Park, we will feel the incredible experience to be at the Highest active volcano of the world.

Driving uphill to 15.000 ft, for a 4-hour downhill biking experience towards the park entrance.

On the way we pass across the paramo and through the forest enjoying different views of this snow-capped volcano. A box lunch is included in this active tour.

Continue our journey to Quilotoa to overnight.

 DAY 05- QUILOTOA- BAÑOS

On the morning we will start our day with an impressive view of Quilota crater lagoon. The hike downhill will take us around 30 to 40 minutes and twice when we climb back up if we like to hike or live another experience when riding on mules for our return.

On the town we will see and admire some tigua craft and paintings, continue to our trip we will take a delicious lunch on a nice restaurant and to go to Baños.

DAY 06 : FULL DAY IN BAÑOS

This day will be a great day in the route of waterfalls. Our first stop will be at the bride Veil waterfall, where you will cross the Pastaza River in the famous «Tarabita » (cable car) . Then our next waterfall is Agoyan where a hiking and ziplines are available to complete this active day adventure.

Our next waterfall is the spectacular «Pailón of the Devil «, the second highest in all of Ecuador, all the hikers that reach to this waterfall are rewarded with an intimate glimpse of one of the most beautiful landscapes while admire the powerful forces of nature: water. After this day full of energy on outdoor activities a relaxing time at Hotel Spa is waiting for you.

DAY 08 BANOS/ TENA

After breakfast, we head towards the Ecuadorian Amazon, we will visit the Botanical garden of the orchids, it is a beautiful garden of environmental regeneration where it was possible to rescue and recover species of reptiles, birds and insects. Lunch on route.

We continue on our way to Santa Rosa, where you will board a canoe, to enjoy one of the most iconic river experiences of your life to reach the lodge. (20-30 minutes river navigation). A Traditional welcome reception at the lodge will be followed by a visit to Yacuma’s exclusive “Hidden Lagoon”. Night activities can include Night walks, night river canoeing, communal fireplace.

DAY 09 : YACUMA FOREST RESERVE

Hidden between 275 hectares of primary rainforest jungle, this day we can try on the following activities :

-Jungle Hikes ranging from 30 minutes to hikes of 4 hours where you visit a Yacuma Exclusive “Tutapishco” Bat Cave. On any hike, explanation of medicinal plants, local birdlife, and much more will be given by your guide.

-Visit the local Kichwa community of Chontayacu, where we can appreciate their simple jungle driven lifestyle.

-Shop for locally produced handicrafts and organically produced crops.-Kayaking or “Tubing” activities in the river.

After dinner we will have our farewell celebration next to the common fireplace.

DAY 10: YACUMA –PAPALLACTA

If the weather allows, we will explore very early in the morning, one of the few “Colpas” or clay lick areas in the region. This unique mud structure attracts local birdlife every day by the hundreds. After breakfast, we will board the canoe to once again take the incredible river voyage out of Yacuma EcoLodge, to continue on our Ecuadorian adventure, and drive to Papallacta.

AT our arrival, we will arrive to Guango lodge to lunch and see some hummingbirds and orchid garden. Afterwards we will go to a spectacular place to have a relaxing afternoon in a hot springs water at Papallacta Spa & Resort. At termoludic area, you can enjoy five pools a circuit with different temperatures equipped with various water jets. AN incredible site in the middle of the andean paramo.

DAY 11: PAPALLACTA- QUITO

After breakfast we will drive start our return to Quito.
