The Equatorial line is located just 30 minutes from Quito,. here you will see the Equatorial Monument . The Equatorial line marking latitude 0° is a unique place where you can place one foot in one hemisphere and another foot in other at the same time. This is where in 1736, Charles’s Marie de La Condamine’s expedition measured the Earth. To commemorate this, a 30-meter high stone trapezoidal monument topped by a brass globe that is 4.5 m in diameter was built. Inside the Ethnographical Museum is displayed the many different Indian tribes that make up the indigenous population of the country. We will visit the complex with its plazas and streets.
